About the course

Practical Employment Law is a one-day course which provides a comprehensive overview of the key elements of the law governing employers and employees. Delivered in partnership with legal experts from top Bristol law firm, Veale Wasbrough Vizards,  the course will also bring you up to speed with the very latest developments in employment law.

The course covers all the essentials, including recruitment, employment status and rights, contracts of employment, discrimination and dismissal. For a full list of topics covered during the course, please see the Key Features section below.

The overview provides a solid foundation in employment law, from which delegates can extend their knowledge further if required, but which should nonetheless equip them with the essential knowledge and skills required from a human resource and management perspective. The overall aim is to arm delegates attending the course with the confidence to make a positive contribution in terms of the type of employment issues which might arise in business.   In addition, improved delegate understanding of the law relating to employment enables more effective scrutiny of their own and their organisation’s key documentation, including employment contracts, policies and procedures against the relevant legal requirements.

The course also forms part of Business Operations module (Week 2) of the Bristol Executive Management Programme.
