Levels 5 & 7 Qualifications in
Executive Management (National Qualifications Framework Levels 5 & 7) |
|
“I have just started a new job as School Business Manager and have already used my learning from the Human Resource Management module several times. My attendance on the course was seen at my interview as a sign of dedication to my move into a new sphere of employment and I also believe that the Accounting for Non-Accountants course was a deciding factor in my appointment”.

Quick Summary
BMC offers the latest (QCF) Levels 5 and 7 Qualifications in Executive Management. These consist of the "Award" at Level 5 and the "Award", "Certificate" and "Diploma" at Level 7. Each Bristol Management Centre "Success" series module provides credits towards these qualifications as well as resulting in other internationally recognised qualifications such as PRINCE2®and Managing Successful Programmes (MSP®) on successful completion of exams and assessments. The various routes to the Level 5 & 7 qualifications are described in the Route Diagram at the bottom of this page. You will see from this that the qualifications are also "nested", so that you can fully utilise a completed qualification (eg the Award) as a stepping stone to the next (eg the Certificate).
Please note, however, that the Levels 5 &
7 assessments require a significant commitment of time and effort
over and above attendance on the courses themselves. You will need
to plan your work schedule carefully in order to ensure you have the
best chance of successfully completing the qualification of your
choice.
Success in Business Management
This is a two-week module, (also available as
two separate one-week standalones – Success in Business Operations
and Success in Business Strategy & Marketing). Successful completion
of the module and the corresponding assessments, consisting of a
Reflective Review and a Work-based Assignment (see note below),
results in the Level 7 Award in Executive Management.
Success in Project Management
This is a one-week project management methodology module.
Successful completion of the module and assessments (see note
below), together with Success in Business Management, results in the
award of the Level 7 Certificate in Executive Management as well as
the Government Best Practice PRINCE2® Foundation and Practitioner
qualifications.
Success in Financial Management
This one-week module was formerly known as “Accounting for
Non-Accountants”. Successful completion of the module and
assessments (see note below), together with Success in Business
Management, results in the award of the Level 7 Certificate in
Executive Management.
Success in Deploying Business Strategy
This is a one-week programme management module. Successful
completion of the module and assessments (see note below), together
with those gained from the three previous “Success” series modules,
results in the Level 7 Diploma in Executive Management as well as
the Government Best Practice Managing Successful Programmes
Foundation and Practitioner qualifications.
Success in Risk Management
This is a one-week risk management module. Successful completion of the module and assessments (see note below), results in a Risk Management option endorsement to the Level 7 Diploma in Executive Management as well as the Government Best Practice Management of Risk (M_o_R®) Foundation and Practitioner qualifications
Note: Preparatory work for the various assessments/assignments associated with the Levels 5 & 7 Awards can be commenced towards the end of the first week of attendance. It is possible to complete the Level 5 ones by the end of the second week but not the Level 7 ones. Students should allow a further 2 to 5 weeks subsequently in order to do so. The assessments for the Level 7 Certificate and Diploma consist of those for the Award plus a number of others. Students should allow up to a further 9 weeks to complete those associated with the Certificate and up to another 9 weeks for the Diploma. Please refer to Qualifications for further details.
BMC strongly recommends you do the Level 5 Award as a first step to the higher qualifications. It is the simplest and most straightforward way of getting a valued qualification on your CV, at the same time as achieving your primary purpose of doing a business related resettlement course as preparation for your new career.
