The APM Project Management Qualification (PMQ) for PRINCE2® is designed for those who have already qualified as a registered PRINCE2® Practitioner.
Please note that the only difference to the full PMQ course is the length and content of the Practitioner exam (2hrs rather than 3hrs). The final examination focuses on 47 of the 73 assessment criteria from the APM Body of Knowledge 6th Edition, which are not covered by PRINCE2®, giving accreditation for the prior learning achieved by successfully completing the PRINCE2® course.
When selecting your course date and booking the course online, please select the course code APMPMQP2.

The APM Project Management Qualification is specifically designed for current registered PRINCE2 Practitioners. In addition to this requirement, it is suitable for project managers, aspiring project managers and those who work in a project environment. The only difference from the standard PMQ course, is the length and content of the Practitioner exam (2hrs rather than 3hrs). You may only book this option if you have obtained your PRINCE2 Practitioner qualification within the past 5 years.
This course enables you to demonstrate knowledge of all elements of project management by gaining the PMQ qualification via a fast track route (consisting of a shorter exam). Recognised both nationally and internationally, PMQ has become a differentiator qualification for PRINCE2 Practitioners seeking to further their career in project management. It enables delegates to demonstrate an understanding of how their projects fit into their strategic and commercial environment.
The PMQ qualification increases the likelihood of project success as it fills knowledge gaps beyond PRINCE2 Practitioner, which should in turn improve your organisation’s project management function. The course is a visible investment in staff and facilitates their development into committed and capable project professionals.
For those who have already qualified as registered PRINCE2 Practitioners, upon successful completion of this course, the Association for Project Management’s PMQ qualification is gained. In each case, it is the full PMQ qualification which is awarded. The course fee for PMQ for PRINCE2 is reduced from the standard APM PMQ course, to reflect the lower cost of the examination.
Delegates wishing to have their prior Registered PRINCE2® Practitioner qualification recognised must be able to provide documentary evidence that their PRINCE2® Certificate is current (within the last five years or three years after 1st January 2018). Any delegate having achieved the PRINCE2® Practitioner qualification through BMC will be exempt from this requirement as their records are already on file here.
Delegates take a 2hr Practitioner exam on the Friday afternoon - this is a short written answer paper that recognises prior learning from the PRINCE2 Practitioner examination. Delegates must answer six questions from a selection of ten. You may only book this option if you have obtained your PRINCE2 Practitioner qualification within the past 5 years.
A pre-course study pack is forwarded to delegates by email upon receipt of payment. This represents approximately 20hrs work in the form of exercises and reading.
