Better Business Cases™ was developed by HM Treasury and the Welsh government. It is a systematic and objective approach to all stages of the business case development process and a best practice approach to planning spending proposals and enabling effective business decisions.
The UK Government method of approach to preparing a business case is internationally accepted as the ‘Best Practice’ leader and widely used within both local government and the private sector. It is the recognised standard for central government and the NHS, and leading private sector companies have introduced it worldwide.
The APMG International accredited Foundation and Practitioner courses are suitable for any organisation seeing the need for a more standardised and controlled approach to preparing a business case based on the Five Case Model.
Our highly regarded Practitioner and Integrated courses are structured so that the Practitioner exam is taken in the classroom directly after the training element (as per Foundation but at the end of the week). We prefer this approach to the post course online exam booking system as it ensures that the course content is fresh in the mind and enables delegates to leave having completed both the course and examination.
*BMC is proud to have maintained a pass rate of 100% at Foundation level and 90% at Practitioner level on our public schedule courses in 2021.

The Better Business Cases Programme is relevant to anyone who writes or reviews business cases in the public or private sector, from Junior staff to CEO level.
The course will help you to write a more succinct and professional business case, with greater chance of securing the necessary approval, funding and support for change initiatives.
Suitable for any organisation seeing the need for a more standardised and controlled approach to preparing a Business Case. If adopted, this approach can lead to a reduction in unnecessary spending and an improved decision-making process.
The Foundation examination requires two days of formal instruction and runs from Monday to Tuesday.
A further 1.5 days of formal instruction is required for the Practitioner examination (Weds / Thurs). The exam is on Thursday afternoon (usually 2pm). Delegates must have achieved a 50% pass in the Foundation exam to be eligible to sit the Practitioner exam.
Candidates for this course are automatically enrolled for the official Better Business Cases Foundation & Practitioner examinations and the cost is included in the course fee.
A pre-course study pack is sent out by email upon receipt of payment. This represents approximately 12hrs work in the form of exercises and reading.
