About the course

Business Development (BD) is the process of identifying and securing new business for an organisation. It is often deployed in complex markets where there are opportunities to deliver bespoke solutions to exacting clients.

There is a general misconception that Business Development is about speaking to people you already know to find out information, but in reality, good business development is a much broader and deeper function and is involved in every aspect of an organisation’s delivery to a client, from initial contact to ensuring client satisfaction.

This course is designed to give you an overview of the key aspects involved in business development and introduce participants to a bespoke Business Development practice, which can be deployed in any environment. It will encourage engagement from participants, sharing existing knowledge and experiences to enable concepts to be rapidly understood.

The objectives of the workshop are to enable delegates to understand the key areas of business development, apply a logical BD process to their own work and for delegates to leave with improved knowledge of effective BD best practice, tools and techniques. The course is delivered by a successful BD practitioner with experience of working across a multitude of complex clients and markets.
