Keynote Seminar – Change Management – “Some personal reflection, key principles, tools and techniques” – 17:15 – Wednesday 7th September 201 

Our speaker Bob is a business consultant at Nine Feet Tall with 24 years of experience in the management consultancy profession, working for global firms such as PwC, E&Y, Capgemini and several niche consultancies.

In that time, Bob has managed Change for clients in manufacturing, aviation, construction, distribution, financial services, rail transport, aerospace and defence, and the not-for-profit, utilities and public sectors. He has delivered process, people and technology change projects for clients with a wide range of cultures in the UK, mainland Europe, South America and North America.  At times, leading Change Management project work streams of up to 30 people tasked with realising up to £400m worth of financial benefits and at other times working individually coaching senior leadership teams. He is an accredited trainer for many of the Big Four and UK Public Sector change management methodologies, some of which he helped to develop and improve.

In 2008, Bob was appointed as one of a handful of external Review Team Leaders who are brought in by the UK Cabinet Office to carry out “Delivery Assurance” reviews of large-scale government change programmes that fall under the scrutiny of the Major Projects Authority.

For the past 8 years, Bob has specialised in behavioural and cultural Change that has led to improved business performance and better Management of Risk.  His work has taken him from the boardroom – developing global strategies and changing the behaviours of senior leaders – to the front-line, where Bob has designed and delivered intensive behavioural Change for people who put their lives at risk every working day.

Prior to his career in management consultancy, Bob graduated with a degree in German Language and Literature from the University of St Andrews and worked for a few years in Basle and Barcelona as a logistics manager for a multi-national industrial chemicals manufacturer.

This seminar will draw on Bob’s personal experiences to explain what Change Management is all about – in a way that is accessible to people from any background.  It will also explore some key principles and why they matter, making reference along the way to some proven tools and techniques for managing change successfully.
