Oculus Rift Virtual Reality Project Management training
27th June – 1st July 2016, Bristol Management Centre, UK.

Having delivered Project Managing Training to over 10,000 delegates over the last 30 years, the team at BMC have recently been looking at ways of delivering innovative Project Management training. Having spoken to our clients, there is huge interest in how modern technology such as Immersive Virtual Reality could be utilised to enhance the learning experience.

VR is increasingly recognised for its value as a powerful educational tool and adds a new and exciting dynamic, making study more participative and interesting. It has been shown that products such as Oculus Rift and Sansum Gear VR give a much more natural learning experience when compared to non-immersive learning – “it’s just like being there” say clients when they use VR solutions. Training using VR has been shown to be cost-effective, and proven to dramatically increase learning and knowledge retention rates. In the operational environment, VR leads to increased operational efficiency and production.

Currently, the majority of training solutions using VR have focused on familiarisation, operation and maintenance of equipment. To date, VR has not been utilised for management training.  Therefore, with BMC’s experience of delivering Project Management training and our associated company Invirt Reality’s experience of VR, we have jointly developed a module of PRINCE2 (UK ‘Best Practice’ model for project management) using VR technology. We are running our first pilot of PRINCE2 using VR in late June and will let you know how it goes. Watch this space!
