IMD Group renews sponsorship of Bath Rugby star
BMC’s parent company, IMD Group are delighted to have renewed their sponsorship of the hugely talented Bath Rugby winger and Royal Scots Dragoon Guards Lance Corporal Semesa Rokoduguni (Roko) for the 2018/19 season.
Now in his seventh season with Bath Rugby, Semesa opened his scorecard for the new season in the local derby match against Gloucester at the weekend, scoring a great try just before half time, which kicked off Bath’s fight back to a 31 -31 draw from 21-0 down.
This fantastic start to the season is a sign he is back and eager to repeat his early success of last season, when he notched up an impressive seven tries in seven Premiership games in the first two months. Although a shoulder injury put him out of action for the rest of the season, he still managed to take equal second in Bath’s top ten try-scorers for the 2017/18 season. To add to this accolade, he won the Bath Rugby supporters’ 2017/18 Try of the Season poll for a magnificent finish against Saracens in great win over the two-time European champions in Round Two of the Aviva Premiership.
Ben Wells, Chief Commercial Officer at Bath Rugby commented on the renewal: ‘It is great to see Rocco fit and firing after recovering from his shoulder troubles last season. He is a class act on and off the pitch and we are fortunate to have IMD Group renew their association with him. We are really looking forward to a successful season and hopefully Rocco will play his part in that.’
Managing Director of IMD Group and BMC, Dean Taylor commented “Given Semesa’s experience of the Armed Services alongside that as a professional sportsman working in high performing teams, he was once again first choice for IMD Group’s sponsorship. Everyone at IMD’s learning and development facility, Bristol Management Centre (BMC), through which many Armed Services delegates pass during resettlement to the civilian workforce, as well as those involved in our consultancy team are looking forward to following his progress throughout the season.”
